Effects of Soluble Salts on Insoluble Phosphates.’

چکیده

This study has been taken up from two viewpoints. First, a study of field and pot experiments, with a view of determining, if possible, the indirect action of various salts when used as fertilizers; to ascertain if the increase in yield obtained from the use of a fertilizer is not due in part to the solvent action which it exerts on the comparatively insoluble phosphorus in the soil. Second, to study in the laboratory, the solvent action of the more common salts on phosphates, using distilled water as a standard. That some fertilizers have an indirect effect has long been an acknowledged fact. It is no longer believed, that the increase in yield obtained from the use of one ton of barnyard manure, is alone due to the addition of the two or three pounds of phosphorus and the ten or twelve pounds each of nitrogen and potassium which it contains; but no small part of the increase is due to the liberation of more plant food. This (I) is brought about by the decaying of organic matter with the formation of various acids which in turn act as solvents on insoluble plant food already in the soil. The benefits obtained from the use of gypsum and lime are due not only to the neutralizing of acid and supplying of calcium, but it is acknowledged that they act indirectly by liberating potassium. From certain results obtained in various experiments, which will be considered later, it seems as if this may be due in part, to the liberation of phosphorus from its less soluble forms.

Analysis of Flashover Voltages of Disc Type Insulator under Artificial Pollution Condition (TECHNICAL NOTE)

Through this paper work we have analyzed the effect of different contaminants on the flashover by creating artificial pollution condition, considering the natural condition where more than one salt as contaminant deposits on the surface of insulator at a time, under the wet condition that cause flow of highly leakage current, that leads to flashover. We choses the mixture of different salts, so...

Effects of foliar spraying kinetin on growth parameters and photosynthesis of tomato under different levels of drought stress. Maryam Niakan* and Alireza Ahmadi

The effects of 2 concentrations of kinetin, i.e., 2 and 4 mM together with 2 levels of drought stress, i.e., moderate (35% soil saturation capacity) and severe (20% soil saturation capacity) were investigated on the growth parameters of tomato including fresh and dry leaf weight, leaf number, leaf surface area, fruit number, fruit weight, and enzymatic antioxidants. To this end, first tomato pl...

The Effects of Lactose, Microcrystalline Cellulose and Dicalcium Phosphate on Swelling and Erosion of Compressed HPMC Matrix Tablets: Texture Analyzer

This paper reviews the use of texture analysis in studying the performance of hydrophilic matrices of highly soluble drugs and different types of excipients (i.e. water-soluble, water-insoluble and swellable, and water insoluble and non-swellable). Tablets were prepared by direct compression, and their swelling and erosion in presence of these different excipients were assessed with the help of...

Hazard identification and dose response of inhaled nickel-soluble salts.

A substantial body of occupational epidemiology data has shown that exposure to mixed soluble and insoluble nickel causes the development of lung and nasal cancer. However, due to coexposure of these populations to soluble and insoluble forms of nickel, and limitations in exposure measurements, the contribution of soluble nickel is difficult to determine. Soluble nickel was negative in an NTP i...
